Dr. James Arthur Brown

                         June 11, 1931 – March 1, 2014

“James Arthur Brown was born on June 11, 1931 in Fort Smith, Ark. Dr. Brown is a graduate of the Fort Smith High School; received a B. S. Degree from the University of Arkansas; attended the University of Arkansas School of Medicine and received his degree in 1956. He did his General Surgery Residency at the University of Arkansas Medical Center, and a Neurosurgery residency at Mayo Graduate School of Medicine. Dr. Brown practiced medicine in Rison, Ark from 1958-1960. Since 1965 he has been a neurosurgeon on the staff of the Holt-Krock Clinic in Fort Smith. He has written a paper entitled, “Pupillomotor Pathways in the Spinal Cord,” which was published in the Archives of Neurology, and is a member of the Sebastian County Medical Society, Arkansas Medical Society, American Medical Society, Congress of Neurological Surgeons, American College of Surgeons, World Federation of Neurologic Societies, the Southern Neurological Society, Mayo Clinic Alumni Society, Phi Chi Alumni Society, and the Board of Neurological Surgery. He is also the past chief of surgery for St. Edward Mercy Hospital.1

Dr. James Arthur Brown passed away March 1, 2014.
